Dating back to between 9600 and 8200 BCE, G\u00f6beklitepe was constructed by hunter-gatherer communities in the early Neolithic period. This is highly significant as it demonstrates that humans were capable of building complex architectural structures even before the transition to settled life and agriculture.<\/span><\/i>)<\/span><\/p>

Some of these pillars weigh between 40 and 60 tons. The surfaces of the stones are decorated with animal figures such as snakes, foxes, lions, vultures, and wild boars, as well as abstract symbols. These reliefs suggest that G\u00f6beklitepe was not merely a settlement, but rather a ritualistic and belief-oriented center.<\/span><\/i>)<\/span><\/p>
